We have many volunteer opportunities throughout Maricopa County.
Volunteer to become a Coach
Volunteer Opportunities:

Coaches
  • Two coaches are assigned to each group of 15 girls and meet with them after school, two days a week for 90 minutes.
  • Please see the Head Coach and Assistant Coach job descriptions for more information about our most rewarding positions!
  • Please fill out a volunteer application and return it to Amy Burnside.
Running Buddies
  • For women who do not have the time available to coach, but want to spend time with the girls.
  • Each Running Buddy is paired with a Girls on the Run participant and runs with her at the WonderGirl 5k as her personal cheerleader!
  • Please fill out a Running Buddies application and return it to Meagan Snedeker.
Wondergirl 5K Race Committee and Event Volunteers
  • Assistance with pre-race planning and race promotion
  • Helping to stuff race packets on the evening of Wednesday May 14th (location TBA)
  • Working packet-pick up and late registration Thursday May 15th and Friday May 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Runner’s Den (located at 16th St and Maryland in Phoenix)(multiple shifts available)
  • Event volunteers assisting with set-up, course supervision and clean-up

Site Liaison Team Tiara
  • Team Tiara is the charity running leg of Girls on the Run. It is a team of aspiring athletes who each pursue individual goals, such as completing a marathon, half marathon or other athletic event to inspire, celebrate, and be an example of self respect and healthy living. We use the power of running to raise much needed funding for Girls on the Run of Maricopa County.
