Returning GOTR Sites

Starting a New Program at Your School

If Girls on the Run is not at your school and you are interested in starting a program at your school for our Fall 2008 Season we will be accepting applications for NEW SITES until June 6th.

Checklist to Host the Program
  • Complete and submit the New GOTR Site Application
  • Provide a Site Liaison - Liaison Position Description
  • Complete and submit the Site Liaison Commitment Form.
  • Provide a safe, dedicated space for running two days per week for 1 1/2 hours. THIS IS ESSENTIAL. The space does not need to be a track. A field works just as well as long as you are able to measure off certain running distances.
  • Determine plan for identifying participants.
  • Distribute registration forms to all 3rd through 5th grade girls. Teams consist of 8-15 girls. Some sites may be approved to host multiple teams.
  • Provide two coaching candidates per team for your site. Each coach will be required to attend a one day Girls on the Run training at the beginning of August and agree to be background checked and fingerprinted (if necessary).
  • The GOTR Program Manager will assist you in identifying coaches if necessary.
  • Verify support and obtain signature approval from the school principal.
  • Secure storage area for snack, curriculum, supplies, first aid kit, etc.
