Bring Girls on the Run® to your School
If your school is already a site, please contact the Council Director for registration information. If your school or community organization does not currently offer Girls on the Run®, please review the
New Site Information and contact for information on starting a program at your school.
In order to host a GOTR Program at your site, you must be prepared to:
- Review position descriptions: Site Liaison, Head Coach and Assistant Coach.
- Provide a safe, dedicated space for running two days per week for 1 1/2 hours. THIS IS ESSENTIAL. The space does not need to be a track. A field works just as well as long as you are able to measure off certain running distances.
- Determine plan for identifying potential participants.
- Distribute registration forms to all 3rd through 5th grade girls. Teams consist of 8-15 girls. Some sites may be approved to host multiple teams.
- Provide two coaching candidates per team for your site. Each coach will be required to attend a mandatory Girls on the Run® training at the beginning of each season and agree to be background checked and fingerprinted (if necessary) and sign a non-compete form.
- The GOTR Council Director will assist you in identifying coaches if necessary.
- Verify support and obtain signature approval from the school principal.
- Secure storage area for snack, curriculum, supplies, first aid kit, etc.
If you are comfortable committing to the above items and have reviewed each position description, please submit a
site application. Here is an
application for returning sites.
Following receipt of your application, the Council Director will contact you to discuss your submission and review next steps.
