WonderGirl 5k The Wondergirl 5K is a chance for the community to race in support of Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run of Maricopa County is an after-school program for girls in grades 3-5. This program aims to increase girls' self-esteem and life skills using an interactive curriculum, running workouts, and games. The girls in the after-school program have been training for this 5K all spring. Join them as they reach their goal of running a 5K race!!

Celebrate the Wonder Girl in Your Life!

Celebrate the Wonder Girl in yourself or someone else by donating a little extra to Girls on the Run of Maricopa County. Wonder Girls ($10 donation) will receive a tiara and Wonder Women ($25 donation) will receive a tiara and costume jewelry. Show your support for Girls on the Run and run the race in style!!!

Volunteer Opportunities:

Race Volunteers
We are looking for men, women and children in the week leading up to the race as well as on the morning of the event to help out with set-up, course management and clean-up. If you are able to volunteer prior to or the morning of the race, please complete the race volunteer application form

Running Buddies
We are looking for dynamic, energetic women to serve as Running Buddies to run along with one of the Girls on the Run participants during the 5K race and help encourage and support her as she reaches the finish line. For more information and volunteer application, please click here

Event Schedule:
  • 7:00 Packet pick-up / Registration
  • 7:50 Warm-up
  • 8:00 5K start
  • 9:15 Raffle
Raffle:

All participants will receive one raffle ticket upon check-in. Additional tickets will be sold throughout the event: 1 for $1 or 6 for $5. Prizes will include: Running gear, fitness club memberships, theater tickets, various gift certificates and more.

All proceeds benefit Girls on the Run of Maricopa County

Event Week Packet Pick Up and Late Registration:

In-person, mailed-in and online registrants may pick up T-shirts, gear and bib numbers at Runner’s Den, 6505 North 16th St (16th St and Maryland in Phoenix), Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 6 from 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or on event day at the race site.

Parking and Race Course:

Please use the north entrance to the park which is on Baseline Road between Kyrene and Mill Ave. From the north parking lot follow the signs for the Wondergirl 5K. The start line is on the west side of the lake, the course will loop around the park and will finish back at the start line.

Timing:

The Wondergirl 5k is not officially timed, however, there will be a clock at the finish line for runners to check their times.
