October Girl Hero
Meet Beth, our October Girl Hero! As a Pace Team Member, Beth has empowered programing behind the scenes, and as a Sparkle Runner she has cheered and encouraged girls across the 5K finish line. Now, though, she is taking her commitment to our mission even further by prepping for a new finish line of her own AND fundraising to help us serve more girls in the process.
Beth is registered as a Girls on the Run SoleMate and will be completing her very first marathon next month at the Every Woman's Marathon. Girls on the Run and the SoleMate opportunity were the inspiration behind Beth setting such a big goal.
"I figured if I was going to walk 26.2 miles, I should fundraise for GOTR. So, I set a stretch goal of raising $2,620 ($100 for every mile). I strongly believe that it is very important for girls to have a place where they are fully supported and encouraged by those around them to be themselves, try new things, and take risks. The Girls on the Run programs enable this confidence building along with many other growth opportunities."
We are so grateful to Beth and all our other SoleMates and are rooting for them and each of you who are setting big goals and chasing big dreams.
