May Girl Hero
Meet Ronnie and Meghan, our May Girl Heroes. Ronnie and Meghan, a husband-and-wife volunteer duo, knew they wanted to be part of something that combined their love of staying active with giving back to their community. For the past two years, they’ve done just that as dedicated members of our Pace Team, jumping in wherever help is needed and bringing positive energy to everything they do.
What they love most about the Pace Team is the flexibility to support events while connecting with other volunteers who share a passion for the mission. Through it all, it’s the sense of community—and the contagious joy of the program—that has kept them coming back season after season.
One of their most meaningful experiences this year was joining the Site Visit Team, where they saw the program in action and watched the curriculum come to life. From powerful lessons to lighthearted moments, these experiences deepened their appreciation for the impact of Girls on the Run. What stood out most to them during site visits was the way girls grow in confidence—learning to replace doubt with positive self-talk and encouraging one another along the way. Seeing that transformation firsthand is something they describe as truly incredible.
Outside of Girls on the Run, Ronnie and Meghan enjoy spending time outdoors—hiking, golfing, and exploring Arizona with their doodles—or relaxing at home with a good show.
Volunteering together has become a meaningful part of their lives as a couple. It’s a shared experience that allows them to step outside of their day-to-day routines and be part of something bigger, all while having fun and bringing joy to others. Their advice for anyone thinking about getting involved? Just jump in. There’s something for everyone, and while you may come to support the program, you’ll leave feeling inspired yourself.
We’re so grateful for Ronnie and Meghan and the heart, time, and positivity they bring to our GOTR community.
